Dear Volunteers, dear Sponsors, dear Friends, The way I spread the information about the 1st Volunteer Summer School in Buryatia 2009 is from mouth to mouth among of my friends.
Many of them I know as people who already had an experience of volunteer work sometime and somewhere. So, as you still might be connected to the organisations which can help the very first Volunteer Summer School in Buryatia 2009 with sponsoring our Volunteers, if you know any appropriate, please, spread the word or mail us their contacts to burvolunteer@gmail.com.
As the very first Volunteer Summer School in Buryatia 2009 has no sponsors, Volunteers will have to arrange visa and tickets to Russia themselves. Some helpful info is here - Useful links.
All the volunteers will share the costs of transportation from Ulan-Ude, capital of Buryatia, to the villages and inbetween.
Personal expenses: visa, tickets.
Expenses to be shared: excursions in Ulan-Ude, transportation to the villages, horse 'rent' in Yengorboy.
If anyone of you have good connections to commercial and non-commercial organisations which can sponsor your spends on transportation to Buryatia, that would be great!

In the place where Id like to invite you as volunteers of the Summer School in Buryatia in July of 2009 children never saw any foreigners, never went abroad and some of them never plan to get higher education. They just find education not necessary and not useful for them.
The main aim of the Volunteer summer school in Buryatia 2009 is promotion of higher education for local children on the one hand. On the other hand, Buryatia discovery we hope will broaden mind and outlook of coming Volunteers of the Summer School 2009. As says the slogan of the Summer School - Make change - educate yourself and others.
